My grandmothers were entrepreneurs in Ghana.
They just weren’t called that in those days.
They made soap. Fed families. Ran businesses. Supported communities. Solved problems with their hands and their ingenuity.
Today we celebrate women founders, creators, and leaders.
But the truth is women have always been building.
In kitchens.
In markets.
In small businesses that uplift communities.
When I host soapmaking workshops today, I think about that lineage.
Women gathering.
Creating something useful.
Pouring bars of soap and telling stories about who they are and where they are going next.
International Women’s Day is a reminder that our work today impacts generations ahead of us.
