WOW! Last week, I was awarded the IMPACT Mentor of the Year award from SUPERGirls SHINE Foundation! I’m still feeling all the emotions.

This nonprofit has helped me stay connected to the tech world while navigating the big (and beautiful) changes that come with new motherhood.

A handful of memorable moments:

-Surprise “mic time!” where I got to speak at the State of Women in STEM and C-Suite Roles conference

-Speaking live on KTSU Radio about the power of mentorship to further awareness of SGSF

-Facilitating a soap chemistry workshop for over 100 students for SUPERGirls in STEM Day conference!

-Guiding my mentee as she took her bold app idea from concept to UX design using design thinking best practices. Yes!

I’ve had the chance to pour into others while being poured into.

Mentorship is mutual. I’ve learned so much from my mentee- a bright, bold, future-ready young leader. Seeing her grow has been the greatest reward!

What’s one lesson you’ve learned from someone you were mentoring? For me, it is simple. The value of truly listening.
